The BBC has recently changed to a new system for receiving unsolicited original scripts from a rolling submissions system to one with three annual windows throughout the year. Now in its eleventh year, Channel 4 and Touchpaper Television continue their commitment to innovation, experimentation and new voices. Two Daryl Duke Scholarships and one William Vince Scholarship - in the amount of $10,000 each - will be awarded to exceptional British Columbia filmmakers who have completed basic training in their field and are entering advanced education in film. Eligible disciplines include writing, directing, producing, cinematography, art direction, picture editing, sound design, visual effects and interactive media. Amazon Studios, the movie-development arm of Amazon.com, today announced that it is expanding into episodic series — specifically primetime comedies and children’s shows.
TV writers and creators are invited to upload series proposals that will be reviewed by the Amazon Studios team and, potentially, added to the Development Slate. The best series will be distributed via Amazon Instant Video.

The NYTVF (New York Television Festival) has announced the semifinalists in the second annual A&E Unscripted Development Pipeline who will advance to the network for consideration. A&E will name five finalists who will each receive network notes and $2,500 to shoot additional tape. One winner will receive $10,000 and the opportunity to participate in the pilot production with A&E.
