Tony Bill, Oscar-Winning Producer
moderated by Jeffrey Gordon
Join us as Tony Bill, producer of THE STING (Best Picture of 1973), speaks on his views of Oscar, the filmmaking process and the current state of the business. He'll also discuss and sign copies of his book Movie Speak, How to Talk Like You Belong on a Film Set.
An accomplished producer, including the features TAXI DRIVER, DEADHEAD MILES, STEELYARD BLUES, HEARTS OF THE WEST, BOULEVARD NIGHTS and GOING IN STYLE, Tony is known as the consummate independent producer with a reputation for discovering new talent.
Tony also directed MY BODYGUARD, his very popular debut, SIX WEEKS, FIVE CORNERS, CRAZY PEOPLE, UNTAMED HEART, A HOME OF OUR OWN, and FLYBOYS, which pioneered the first 35mm digital camera.
A veteran of Venice, Tony's Market Street Productions is considered the closest filmmaking equivalent of an artists' colony you can find in Hollywood, and his restaurant with partner Dudley Moore 72 Market Street Oyster Bar and Grill thrived for 18 years.
This event is underwritten by Writers Boot Camp on behalf of our Think Tank and Basic Training alumni. The public is welcome, space permitting.
