Ann Simon's BLACK FUNERAL wins BRONZE AWARD in the 2015 Beverly Hills Screenplay Contest for Stage Play Category. This is the third award for BLACK FUNERAL since 2014.
Simon is a former teacher, published in short horror and sci-fi, the essay, the review, the mid-grade mystery, and the mid-grade fantasy novella. She's garnered a quarter semifinalist entry in L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future Contest, honorable mentions in the Writer's Digest Writing Competition and the Dark Dixie Writing Contest, and picked up second place in Feo Amante's Jobs in Hell Contest, 2000.
Sometimes Ann calls ravens to roost in writing classes, or breathes fire into fairytales for a flutter of goslings. The Birdman she wishes to share THE STORY with no longer walks among mortals. His name is Grandpa John--the earthly dust who walks with wings.
