  22. i am an independent filmmaker looking for a talented screenwriter to help bring a story of mine to the page. i have been researching the subject and outlining it for over five years, and now that it is where i think it needs to be, i need a writer to bring to it a pair of fresh eyes. while the structure is set in stone, there is plenty of room for a creative-enough mind to play within the boundaries. it is of a dark theme, very much influenced by the films of michael haneke, and i am hoping to find someone whose voice is or can be filtered through the naturalism of john cassavetes and the poetry of ingmar bergman. this is not a paying gig, but a chance to be a part of something exciting and true (we will be shooting in the autumn of this year, and the screenwriter will own a percentage of the finished project). if this sounds intriguing to you, please introduce and tell me a little something about yourself and your influences via email, and feel free to attach one of your screenplays (preferrably one of a dark and dramatic type). if i feel your style is compatable to mine, i will in return tell you more about the story, and arrange a meeting in the manhattan area. thank you and good luck.

  27. I am successfully working as a director for commercials on the international market since 10 years. I had the chance to shape my cinematic style and to manage difficult film sets. Check out my work www.marcwilkins.com Its time now to move to the next level: Currently I am working with screenwriters on three different feature film screenplays. First drafts are finished and it fulfills me with great happiness to see the final drafts coming along. But I want to direct one more short film before I direct my first full length feature. I am posting this ad here to find my new short, as a story or as a screenplay. Maybe you are a writer with a hard disk filled with wonderful stories, looking for the right partner to turn them in to motion picture!?

I am interested in reading stories which could be the base for a 7 till 15 minutes short film. I do not want to write down a briefing for what I am looking for, no, I want to be surprised, thrilled and intrigued. But what I can do as a hint, is giving you a list of my top five favorite filmmakers: Roman Polanski, Wim Wenders, John Huston, Terrence Malick and Pedro Almodovar.

I am not looking to “buy” a script. A short film is most of the time a non-profit-business. But of course the writer of a short film which I direct and produce would be co-producer and stay owner of the rights to the story.

Interested? Let me read what you have got!

  54. Hello. I've been searching far and wide for a comedian or comic writer who has a firm sense of the humor of every day life. Who keeps people laughing, not through routines, but everyone he/she comes into contact with. Who can translate this into writing.

I have a series of short screenplays that as one will be a feature screenplay. i'm developing it and would like a writing partner to add the "funny" to my screenplay. Subtle - relationship humor, friendship humor. Not slapstick. Romantic comedy...yeah!...romantic comedy comedy :) I'll handle the drama, you'll take a look at my scenes or sequences and punch it up a little where needed. This is African-American centered, but humor is universal.

Your reward is a film (short or feature) that will bare your name as co-writer and proceeds from the project. What do you think? please email me at purplefilms@hotmail.com - Chi

  55. We are independent filmmakers in the beginning stages of pre-production and we are looking for a screenwriter who can join us in this adventure by developing our idea on a script. This idea is for an action drama web-series about a Mexican girl who witnesses her fathers murder by one of the big drug cartels. She crosses the border to the United States illegally with her mother and younger brother to escape the drug cartels and avoid being assassinated. A large part of this story will focus on the struggles she faces as an illegal resident in United States.

Because some scenes take place in Mexico, and because the creator wants the story to be credible some of the scenes have to be in Spanish. It is very important for the creator and the story that the writer can develop a realistic and believable Spanish dialog on some of the scenes.

  77. PRODUCERS CAN'T READ- a new, original way to get your script discovered.

    www.producerscantread.com

At Producers Can't Read we offer an innovative way to present your script to anyone in the industry by bringing it to life through the decades old medium of radio theater. By presenting an mp3 version of your work, you cease asking them to take hours out of their day to take a chance on you, but rather ask them to give it a listen while in their car, at the gym, getting ready for work in the morning, etc. Execs are busy people, and it's asking a lot of them to read an undiscovered writers work. We provide a fun way to ask much less.

For a sample of our work, go to our website, www.producerscantread.com

The following estimate is for a 90 page script:

    A straight read with one actor at $1.50 a page(1.5x90)= $135.

    With sound effects at $2 a page(2x90+135)= $315

If you would like more than one actor, add $1.50 per page that each additional actor would be reading for.

We look forward to turning your script into Radio Theater,

    Leonard Halpin
