British Independent Film Festival


The British Independent Film Festival is an event designed to showcase independent films from around the world with a focus on British talent. Our New Screenplay competition seeks to find and celebrate innovative new scripts and writers. In recent years winners of this prize have gone on to find production deals, representation and get their scripts made.


The winner of this prestigious Award, will be able to collect their prize at the Official Awards Ceremony in Leicester Square, as well as receive After Party tickets to the top London venue, where there will be plenty of netowrking and partying until late in the night. 


The Award is made from beautiful, sculpted crystal.


*Other prizes and goody-bags may be given on the day from Awards sponsors.

  2. The script submitted may have been completed at any time for submission, as there are no time constraints on this category.
  3. You must be the author of the work if you are submitting it, or have permission from the autor to submit it on their behalf.
  4. All scripts are read and reviewed by our team. The judges decision is final.
  5. Scripts from all countries will be considered.

Jonathan LaPoma and Natalia Porras Sivolobova's feature-length coming-of-age drama, 'La Tierra Que Yo Amo', (Land That I Love), is a runner up at the 2017 British Independent Film Festival. This is the script's 33rd award/honor.
