CONTEST DESCRIPTION

The Spec Scriptacular is all about helping you get the credibility you need for showbiz gatekeepers to read your work. Past Winners, Finalists, or Semi-Finalists of TVWriter™‘s contests are or have recently been on the staffs of CHICAGO FIRE, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE WALKING DEAD, RIZZOLI AND ISLES, GREY’S ANATOMY, NTSF:SD:SUV, ANIMAL PRACTICE, ROME, CHICAGO PD, KILLER WOMEN, THE LEFTOVERS, WESTWORLD, THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER, to name a few. We’d love to see you join them.

Rules

1. The SPEC SCRIPTACULAR COMPETITION especially encourages NEW writers because of the fresh outlooks and original perspectives they bring to the television industry but is happily open to ALL writers in all countries in the world except as expressly forbidden in paragraph 7 below.

2. Writers-submittors may enter as many times as they wish, but each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee of $50. All entry fees are non-refundable.

3. Entries must be submitted online.

The preferred file format for online entries is .PDF so all the judges will be able to read them.
We recommend that each writer(s)-submittor(s) protect his/her material by registering it with the U.S. Copyright office, the Writers Guild of America, West, or or other reliable intellectual property registration service.
4. All material submitted must be full screenplays or teleplays containing a title page including the title of the series (and individual episode), pilot, or screenplay, and the name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of the writer(s)-submittor(s).

5. All material must be the property of the writer(s)-submittor(s). It must be original work created by the writer(s)-submittor(s).

6. Protections & Warranties

The writer(s)-submittor(s) must have copies of the material being submitted, and agree(s) not to hold SPEC SCRIPTACULAR, TVWRITER.COM, Manner Movie Ltd., Larry Brody, and/or their employees and representatives responsible should loss of the submitted material occur.
The writer(s)-submittor(s) agree(s) not to hold SPEC SCRIPTACULAR, TVWRITER.COM, Manner Movie Ltd., Larry Brody, and/or their employees and representatives responsible should any questions arise regarding authorship or ownership of material similar to that submitted to the contest, before, during, or subsequent to the judging of the contest.
7. Relatives and employees of the SPEC SCRIPTACULAR, TVWRITER.COM, Manner Movie Ltd., Larry Brody, and/or their representatives are ineligible for entry.
