Seinfeld Producer - Master of Comedy Teleconference!

ISA is lucky to host a master of comedy for a FREE teleconference with Peter Mehlman, one of the Writers and Producers of Seinfeld!

Peter will discuss:

  • Different types of humor and various comedy genres
  • How to find the humor in a situation
  • What he learned from working with Larry David on Seinfeld
  • How he cultivates his own creativity and develops ideas
  • The importance of outside interests and enjoying your own projects, and more....

Peter Mehlman was a New York journalist before moving to Los Angeles in 1989 where his first job was writing an episode of Seinfeld.  Over the run of the show, Mehlman was nominated for 5 Primetime Emmys, rose to executive producer, and coined such Seinfeld-isms as “yada yada,” “sponge-worthy,” “shrinkage” and “double-dipping.”

Mehlman went on to create the DreamWorks show, “It’s Like, You Know…”, a scathing look at Los Angeles. He has written screenplays, a novel, and humor pieces for NPR, Esquire, The New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times and Huffington Post, while also appearing on-camera for TNT Sports and the Webby-nominated “Peter Mehlman’s Narrow World of Sports”.

ISA Teleconferences Host Laurie Lamson is the editor of Now Write! Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror and co-editor of Now Write! Screenwriting and Now Write! Mysteries – writing exercise anthologies published by Tarcher/Penguin. Laurie wrote screenplays on assignment for Greenstem Enterprises, Prodigy Entertainment, and co-wrote a comedy with Gary Shusett.
