I AM ELEVEN
Dir. Genevieve Bailey, Australia, 2011, 98 min.* post-screening discussion
Do you remember when you were 11? Filmmaker Genevieve Bailey travelled the world talking with 11-year-olds from 15 countries to compose this insightful, funny and moving documentary portrait of childhood. From an orphanage in India, to a single-parent household in inner-city Melbourne, to bathing with elephants in Thailand, the film weaves together deeply personal and at times hilarious insights of what it means to be at this transitional age.
