BRITTANY COPE - Sr. Director, Live Action Development, Nickelodeon
Currently Senior Director of Scripted Development at Nickelodeon, Brittany started her entertainment career working at DreamWorks SKG in the casting department covering animated and live action features and television. She then moved into television development at Amblin TV before joining the Comedy Development team at ABC Network. While at ABC working on broadcast development she also took over responsibilities building, developing and programming for the network’s digital platform. Before joining Nickelodeon she spent a few years leading development at Abominable Pictures. Some of her favorite projects include, How To Train Your Dragon, The Croods, The Americans, Speechless, Blackish, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, and many more.
KAREN KIRKLAND – Literary Agent & Co-Founder, Culture Creative Entertainment
Karen Kirkland, Literary Agent and Founding Partner at Culture Creative Entertainment is an industry veteran, who over the past 27 years has been involved in various aspects of the film and television industry; stemming from an independent producing background, compiling over 50 commercial and music videos to her credit. She has been nominated for multiple MTV Music Video Awards, won an NAACP Image Award for Video of the Year, and served as the producer of the LA Film Festival, a preeminent cinematic event, showcasing compelling independent films, TV and episodic work from emerging storytellers, alongside filmmaker-driven studio titles.
Formerly, as Nickelodeon’s Vice President, Talent Development and Outreach, Karen spent 13+ years identifying, developing and staffing writing talent onto Nickelodeon network productions. Under her leadership, Nickelodeon’s Writing Program expanded worldwide and blossomed into one of the most competitive and wellrespected vehicles for emerging television writers.
As one of the industry’s leading creative strategists for writers, Karen has helped to launch the careers of many successful creative visionaries including those who are currently at EP, Producer and Story Editor level at Nickelodeon, HBO, Comedy Central, ABC, Adult Swim, The CW, FOX, Amazon, Hulu and NBC/Universal. Karen is an international speaker, having led writing workshops around the world. She has been a judge for numerous screenwriting award competitions including the BANFF World Media Festival, the UCLA Screenwriter’s Showcase and the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.
In 2017, Karen founded The Breakk; a 3-day creative retreat that brings female television writers together with top entertainment execs and working industry professionals.

Kelley Gardner – EIC, VP Animation Current Series, Nickelodeon
Kelley Gardner is a Vice President in the Current Series Animation Department, working on SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Trek, Wonder Park, Middle School Moguls, and the VDS Series, The JoJo and BowBow Show Show.
Kelley holds a BA in Ethnic Studies and Political Science from The University of California, San Diego and first joined Nickelodeon as an assistant in the Current Series Department in 2006. During her 12 years at Nickelodeon, Kelley has worked on over a dozen animated series, including The Fairly Odd Parents, Sanjay & Craig, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and The Penguins of Madagascar. Currently, her duties include managing the day to day operations of the shows she is an EIC on; this includes reading submissions, going to pitches, animatic reviews, giving creative notes, and liaising with the on-air promo, marketing, and standards & practices teams on behalf of her shows. Kelley is also a member of Colour Entertainment and she is the Women in Animation (WIA) Ambassador for Nickelodeon Animation.

Sherley Ibarra is Nickelodeon’s Director of Talent Development & Outreach where she oversees Nickelodeon’s Writing and Artist Programs – two of the most competitive and successful vehicles for up and coming creatives. She is also responsible for spearheading the network’s outreach efforts at industry and college events, which enhance the ability to act as a pipeline for identifying, developing, and mentoring innovative new talent.
