Mugambi is a Kenyan actor, writer and director. He started out in Nairobi’s theatre scene in the early 2000's, appearing in various plays and musicals.. He later had a brief career stint in Philadelphia’s theatre and film scene during the recession of 2008, after which he returned home to land roles in the celebrated Kenyan films ‘Nairobi Half Life’ (2012) and ‘Stories Of Our Lives’ (2015).
Mugambi co-created and co-wrote ‘Groove Theory’, a musical TV series, after which he went into film, co-writing ‘Kati Kati’ (2016), which premiered at TIFF and won the FIPRESCI Prize, and 'Supa Modo' (2018), which premiered at Berlinale, and won over 50 prizes worldwide, including the ECFA Award for Best European Film For Children. His directorial debut ‘Lusala’ had its Kenyan premiere in June 2019, and its international premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2020.
Mugambi is also part of Kenya's premiere improv comedy collective, ‘Because You Said So’, which hosts sold-out, bi-monthly shows, and hosts Monday Movie Nights at K1 Klubhouse.
Mugambi will share the journey of Lusala, a film that had its world premiere at Rotterdam International Film Festival, from logline to script.

Nyambura M. Waruingi is a cultural producer and disruptor with a career in film, television, theatre, and visual arts, spanning nearly two decades. She has worked with award-winning production companies, renowned public cultural institutions, and innovative film and visual arts collectives in Canada, Kenya, South Africa, USA, India, and Uganda.
Be it Nairobi, Delhi, Kampala, Montreal, Kigali, San Francisco, or Johannesburg, Nyambura works at the intersection of visual, literary, and cinematic arts, producing encounters that re-imagine our realities across mediums and platforms.
Nyambura’s focus is on excellence in transdisciplinary creative development, new media technologies, and inventive distribution. And, she loves to gather people to enjoy all forms of creative and artistic expressions, curating festivals and exhibitions for transformative engagement. Come play!

Page Turner Screenplays Regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or economic background, Page Turner is focused on finding and supporting great original stories with a strong voice that grip the reader from the first page to the last. Whether the story you tell is a genre film or an indie pic, a network procedural or an edgy cable drama, we want to find the most compelling, unique, page-turning scripts out there.
We are looking for scripts that we CAN’T put down. Send us your best. We look forward to supporting and helping you grow as a writer.
The FIRST 15 is a unique competition where your script will only be judged based upon your opening FIRST 15 pages. This competition is designed to help you get your script in the best possible shape you can should you choose to use the notes option and if not to test your script in competition before you may be submitting to or to prepare you to be read by managers and agents.
