Filmocracy's Scriptwriter Showdown: Drama Genre Edition

Come and watch talented screenwriters compete in a unique LIVE 1-hour screenwriting competition followed immediately by a table read with actors!

Cheer on the writers in their rooms as they write their scripts and the actors as they perform them, then vote on the winners! This month’s Showdown highlights 8 amazing screenwriters with a focus on the drama genre. Make sure to RSVP here!

Here is a rundown of how it will go:
- Contestants will have 1 hour to write a short scene based on a prompt to be provided at the beginning of the event. Spectators will observe the writers write while chatting amongst themselves.
- Each contestant will be seated at a featured position in their own virtual room and asked to share their screens as they embark on their writing process.
- Everyone else is free to jump from room to room and witness the creative process unfold amongst the contestants!
- Once the hour is over, the judges and audience will vote for the top 3 scripts and then we'll launch into a presentation the writers can prepare our panel of actors to perform a table read of the scene.
- Once all of the scenes have been presented, attendees and judges will be asked to vote on their favorites to decide on a winner!

Cheer on the writers, enjoy the spontaneous creativity and watch as a short script comes to life.

Filmocracy is a gamified video streaming service that incentivizes users to watch, rate, and invest in films. Filmocracy is also a film festival hosting platform that hosts over 80 film festivals a year. We are evolving subscription video consumption into a gamified collaborative social network. Filmocracy will engage users in a network as opposed to treating them as consumers of a service. Instead of flooding users with $12 billion of programming of mixed quality, Filmocracy will introduce a gamifed interface, social film viewing, financial rewards for rating films accurately, and a simple way to invest in film and share in the profits. By incentivizing users to rate films accurately, films are organically marketed and save the user’s time and reduce frustration.
