Hollywood International Screenwriting Competition

We are the home of the entertainment industry and we get our winners the exposure they deserve. Our goal is to connect writers with agents, managers, and producers. Most great films are made in Hollywood. Most Award winning films have been made in Hollywood and the majority of Award winning artists live in Hollywood so it makes sense to get your script read by the people who have access to the people who can get it made and get it made right! We don’t care where you’re from or what sort of past you have, if you’ve written a great script, we want to read it. Please submit it today!

We are a passionate group of industry executives who care deeply about developing the next generation of Hollywood filmmakers from the U.S. and abroad. We are located in the heart of the entertainment industry and are proud to be the only International screenwriting competition in Hollywood. We are committed to fostering the careers of local talent as well as finding the next generation of talent from around the world.

We want to launch the careers of our industry’s next generation of writers and filmmakers. Hollywood is all about blockbusters and we want to find the talent capable of delivering those blockbusters. We are passionate about developing artists. We want to connect up and coming artists with the agents and managers that will ultimately put them in front of the producers who will get their films made.

We love movies and the artists who make them and we are committed to seeing more of you get your films made. As such, we are committed to having the most prolific distribution list of any screenwriting competition. We not only want to get our winners' scripts into the hands of people who can do something with them, we want their scripts in the hands of everybody who can do something with them. And we want our winners' scripts to get made.

Great films come in all shapes and sizes, from thrillers to comedies and epic blockbusters to small indies, as such we love all kinds of scripts from big studio projects to arthouse indies. No two paths are the same and no two stories are either. We accept scripts from all over the world not just the US and from writers of all shapes and sizes, ethnicities, sexes and sexual orientations.

Our city produces the most films in the world because we have the most talented people in the world. We want to continue that tradition. We want to develop writers and filmmakers to work in every facet of production. We want to support writers at all levels to make great films all over the world. We love film and we love filmmakers. And we want to do everything we can to support and inspire the next generation of filmmakers to tell great stories that will be told for generations to come.

We want to open doors for aspiring screenwriters and filmmakers in all genres.

The Hollywood International Screenwriting Competition rewards screenwriters with various prizes including comprehensive distribution of your script to top industry executives at talent agencies and productions companies around the world. Our database of A list agents and managers is second to none. We are in the heart of the entertainment industry and are committed to seeing our winners get their scripts in the hands of the people who can get them made. Three winners will also receive an InkTip Script Listing of your script on InkTip so that even more producers and reps can find you.

Furthermore, the Grand Prize Winner will have the opportunity to have their script delivered to the agent, manager, or production company of their choice!

Grand Prize Winner will also be given exclusive script notes from a former top development executive at Disney!

So much of the opportunity available to your script is spent within the first twenty pages. You need to make sure the hook, teaser, cold open… grabs the reader and presents you like it should. This analysis will give you those answers.

ISA General Feedback (2-3 Pages)

You know your work inside and out, now it’s time to get a second opinion. We’ll read your full script, and you’ll receive a detailed personalized critique on what we see, what we think, and suggestions on where to go next.

ISA Extended Feedback (5-6 Pages)

For those looking for an extensive breakdown of the inner-workings of their creative material. Writers who select this Analysis will receive suggestions on how to improve overall writing, story, structure, characters, pacing, stakes, climax and resolution, specific problem scenes, tone and overall commercial appeal.
