CONTEST DESCRIPTION

Enter now for a chance to have your script read by professional actors! Every script submitted (fee is $25) is in the running to be one of 2 scripts chosen to be read in front of our audience and this month's Industry Insider, Pete Goldfinger, writer of the new 'Saw' movie 'Jigsaw' - and a highly respected script coach - in a West Hollywood Theatre on Monday, October 30th, 2017 at 7.30pm. Hearing a script read live is a vital part of the creative/re-write process, so is getting useful notes from someone in the business, especially if you don't live in Los Angeles. This is a unique opportunity...submit your script now!

We are:

  • A Screenwriting Competition – giving writers a chance to hear their words read by professional actors live, followed by constructive feedback from an ‘Industry Insider’.
  • An Event Series - where writers and actors come together to meet, listen, mingle with working Insiders, contribute, learn, and grow.
  • A Community – A ‘creative safe space’. Everything we do, from written feedback to workshops to our competitions and events is designed to help writers explore and improve their creative process. We want you to become a better writer – the first step toward making this compulsion a career.

The LiveReadLA event is the kind of supportive community screenwriters dream about, with great actors and an insightful moderator leading the exchange of constructive feedback.  It was an honor to be a guest and I look forward to coming back soon!’ - Mickey Fisher – Creator, ‘Extant’ (CBS) and ‘Reverie’ (NBC) and our Industry Insider, August 2017
