EVENT DESCRIPTION

Join us for Third Thursdays with the ISA in New York. 

We'll have special industry guests and door prizes for screenwriters. This event is free and open to all!  Producers, directors, actors and all other members of the film and television community are encouraged to attend. Join us for this fun evening of socializing. SPECIAL GUEST: David Chai

Growing up in Sydney, Australia, David studied acting at the Actor’s Center before finding his real calling behind the camera. His first break was working for a commercial editing house, before completing a Bachelor in Film at the University of Technology, Sydney. As an editor, he has edited three features, won a Best Editing award for a short film “Blind Date”, and co-edited the Austin best documentary winner “WMD: Weapons of Mass Deception”. David worked for major post houses Technicolor and Deluxe in New York, working on many films including “The Devil Wears Prada”, and Ang Lee’s “Taking Woodstock”. As a Colorist, David has color corrected features, documentaries, shorts, music videos and fashion shows for Gucci, Calvin Klein, Victoria Beckham and more.

David’s first feature as Writer / Director is Siji:Driver which won the Best Feature Film and Best Original Score awards at the 21st Long Island International Film Expo 2018. David was also nominated for Best Director. He has also directed a bilingual TV pilot called Fashion City, short films, commercials, TV programs, and live events. He is an alumnus of ScreenwritingU and has written multiple high-concept screenplays.

Your Script Produced! is a Worldwide Screenwriting Competition sponsored by Doval Bacall Films. The sponsor will fully fund, develop, package and produce the Grand Prize winning film script for $250,000.00 USD.  Open to anyone 18 years old or older across the world.

Katra Film Series is dedicated to discovery, exhibition and promotion of quality emerging cinema, providing a platform for independent filmmakers to showcase their work in front of a live audience and to network with likeminded industry professionals. Every season we curate a selection of quality films, web series and digital works where the audience votes for one project to advance to the final rounds. Regardless of who wins each season all works will be considered for the Year-End Grand Finale Event where the top works will compete for over 10K in prizes at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Brooklyn, NY.

Changing Face International Film Festival aims to encourage diverse content from diverse creators. CFIFF was started as a way to bring together filmmakers from all over the world to celebrate each others work and to create a festival that was supportive of screenplays and screenwriters. Their goal for 2019 is to continue to create opportunities for wonderful filmmakers.

Please, inform me about next event this year. I have 4 top quality scripts with the great plots and content according to the professional writers and editors. But 2 of it needs some editorial work. So, I'm no rush and I want to finish all my scripts first. Today is too late to go to NY from Connecticut and I have some plans.
