Previous ISA Fast-Track Fellow Sean Collins-Smith was accepted into the inaugural Sony TV Pictures Diverse Writers Program! He was invited because of his limited series pilot WONDER DRUG, which is being called “CHERNOBYL meets ERIN BROCKIVICH.” The script chronicles the worldwide thalidomide tragedy of the 1960s, when the drug killed tens of thousands of newborn babies, and one FDA employee’s attempts to prevent it from reaching America. Readers on The Black List have called the pilot "remarkable," "fascinating," and "impeccably crafted." Sean will spend six weeks learning from writers, showrunners and execs within the Sony family.
Julia Skikavich has been selected as a Mid-Career Track fellow for the 2021 RespectAbility Summer Lab for Entertainment Professionals with Disabilities. Some of the studios sponsoring this year's mentorship and professional development program include The Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures, ViacomCBS and NBCUniversal. Julia is deeply honoured to be included in this year's cohort and is looking forward to working with, and learning from, the other participants, faculty, mentors and speakers as she spends the summer developing a new YA drama project.

Just before Covid hit actor, William Forsythe agreed to play the role of Machine Gun Eddie “G” Greenberg, 1 of the 6 childhood best friends (all Co-Leading roles) in THE GANGSTER ZONE. Casting might alter if Jon Voight who has read the screenplay wants to play retired hitman Machine Gun Eddie G. Greenberg, who is called "Machine Gun Eddie G" because he stutters. However William is also "liked" for a different Co-Leading role as the character Moose if this happens William Forsythe and Talbot Perry Simons, studied acting together at the Lee Strasberg Institute in Hollywood back in 1975, and Forsythe has offered to help with the production in any way he can.

Derricke Camack has been invited to join the Development Slate program. Derricke was selected after working extensively with Max Timm on his TV Series project, The Chameleon, which he then submitted for a Marketing Evaluation script read. A month later, Felicity Wren admired the story and his unique perspective and he was invited to join the top tier writers. Derricke said 'It is truly an honor for him to be a part of the program."
Female-driven Western Drama feature WILD DATURA advanced to the semi-finals last month and then won the 2021 Creative Screenwriting: Unique Voices Screenplay Competition in its genre.

Adam McDaniel’s horror script, IMPROPER DOSAGE has recently received several accolades. The story originated as a short, and then was expanded into an hourlong TV pilot, THE BLEEDING SEASON. It was a finalist in 13HORROR.com’s writing competition, and recently published through their imprint. The script also received an honorable mention in this year’s Killer Shorts competition, is a semifinist in this year’s Big Apple screenplay competition, a quarterfinalist in both the Filmmatic Inroads Fellowship and ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship, and is an official selection in the upcoming Script Summit competition.
Adam McDaniel’s feature script, IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THADDEUS THACKERAY, is now ranked #1 in the animation category of the “WinningScripts” section on MovieBytes.com. The cartoon action-adventure recently received the “Courage and Fortitude” Spotlight Award in the Fresh Voices Screenplay Competition, as well as an overall honorable mention.
