I am an award winning screenwriter and producer looking for a co-writer to embark on a journey of comedic proportions. I have a 1 page outline for a comedy script that I want to develop into a feature film and with the right writing partner, I believe we could make this concept into a comedic film for the ages. Think Dodgeball meets Blades of Glory - this script is intended to be the best blend of Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller with a touch of classic Adam Sandler.
Whilst there would be no upfront payment, I am looking for a partner, someone to write and develop the script with from start to finish. I am happy to draft up an agreement that aligns us as co-creators of the IP as well as splits any option fee(s) 50/50. If the film gets produced, then we would be in it together, both receiving writer credits and the fees that come along with that. If the film isn't produced 18 months after it is completed, I will buy out the co-writer for a fee of $5000 - at which time I would become the sole credited writer and owner of 100% of the IP in the script.
I am happy to pay for meals and drinks during writing sessions, as well as any costs associated with the research for developing the script. I am a fun loving guy who has been in the industry for over 18 years and I have great connections to get scripts made and attach amazing actors, so if the writing partner is right and the script is as great as I think it can be, then this is not just a writing gig, its a pathway to production gig.
To apply, please provide: A short bio, A 1 page writing sample or no more than 5 pages from a script you've already written (ideally a comedy), A link to any produced works (if you have it), Your IMDB link (if you're on there).
