My brand: Heartfelt Dramedy. For Series & Features meant to inspire misfits like me to become the heroes of their own lives.
I’m a highly experienced screenwriter who’s successfully written on assignment.
Growing-up in a big family in Philly then Minnesota, my imagination became the best source for escape my parents, and for creating mayhem & adventure. Like that time when I was 10 and stole my parents' car to go buy ice-cream; or when I launched myself down a steep Philly street in a plywood go-cart with no brakes, or, after setting out on my own at 17, my two summers as an amateur stock car driver.
My adventures led me to Art School.lead me to The Minneapolis College of Art & Design. I worked three part-time jobs to pay for school, graduating with a double-major in Film Production and Graphic Design.
I went to work for Twin Cities PBS and won a Regional Emmy for Production Design plus 3 Broadcast Design Awards. I got the chance to be the Lead Graphic Designer for the wonderful Production Designer, Ruth Ammon, (STATION ELEVEN) on Lona William's SUGAR & SPICE and DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. I lucked into working with brilliant Production Designer, Rick Heinrichs, as the Lead Graphic Designer for Joel & Ethan Coen’s FARGO and THE BIG LEBOWSKI. Afterwards, Rick invited me to work with Tim Burton on SUPERMAN LIVES (unfinished). I designed three key “S” logos. Two of which are still in use today.
I set my sights on screenwriting, trained with Blake Snyder and then Jen Grisanti. I became an Amazon Studios Best Screenplay Competition Semi-Finalist. Was short-listed in both the NBC and ABC TV Writers Showcases. I’m a three-time Semi-Finalist in the ScreenCraft TV Pilot Competition. A two-time Top-5 Winner for Best Screenplay at Screamfest LA. Two time Second-Rounder at Austin Film Festival. A Top Ten Finalist at Cinestory. My Dramedy TV Pilot, I’M FINE... AND OTHER LIES, was a 2021 Top Ten Finalist in Roadmap Writers Top Tier Competition.
