Born in Mumbai, India, Minoti moved to Los Angeles on her own at the young age of 19, leaving her family back in India. She started her career in entertainment by pursuing music, producing her first pop album "The Fictional Truth” in 2010, and two more albums after that - "Secret Garden” (2013) and “Mix It Up” (2015). Her biggest hit, "Psychologist" gathered over 100,000 downloads across various platforms. The music video for her single "So Will You" went semi-viral on YouTube with over 114,000 views. Minoti’s songs have played on radio stations across the U.S, U.K, Canada, and Denmark, and she has placed in several independent artist contests worldwide.
On the film and television front, Minoti started out by co-hosting and co-producing a 17-episode television review podcast called TV Weekly. She then worked for the International Documentary Association, producing high-profile entertainment industry events and working with major networks and studios like Netflix, Sony, Fox Searchlight, Warner Bros., and Showtime among others. She also served as a Writers Assistant for the 29th Annual IDA Documentary Awards in 2012, and produced the short film R.I.P. later that year. In 2013, Minoti worked in social media and outreach on HBO's Emmy® nominated documentary American Winter. She was then hired to write, produce and direct an eleven-minute pitch pilot for a show called 3 Orbs of Light, made by PKM Images and The POW Girl Productions. This prompted her to start her own production company - Prophecy Girl Films.
Through Prophecy Girl Films, Minoti has worked on several independent films and television pilots made by production companies like Vigilants Entertainment, Endless Media, Smarthouse Pictures, Rafael Film, and more. In June 2016, Minoti was elected President of the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California for the 2016-2017 term. She previously served as their Events Director, programming and producing events in partnership with SAG-AFTRA, 21st Century Fox, and CBS. Additionally, Minoti wrote the script for the Alliance for Women in Media Southern California’s 57th Annual Genii Awards and started the AWM SoCal Film Award initiative to award women filmmakers who tell compelling stories.
As a film and television writer, Minoti has won several awards and placed in several contests for her screenplays and teleplays, including a finalist placement in the 2016-2017 CBS Writers Mentoring Program and a Top 6 Placement in ISA's Emerging Screenwriters Competition. She has been commissioned to write scripted pilots and outlines for various production companies, and has previously developed projects for HBO, History Channel, and Discovery Channel.
Minoti currently works as a television development producer in Los Angeles, where she continues to thrive and turn her dreams into reality.
