EVA BITAR Eva is the City of Los Angeles Motion Picture and Television Manager. She is the dedicated Citywide Filming Coordinator and Industry Liaison. Eva serves as the single point of contact to address production needs of the Film Industry. Eva has created a comprehensive program to support and encourage motion picture and television production in the Los Angeles area, and advises the Mayor and City Council on film related matters. Eva is the FilmL.A. Contract Administrator and chairs the Citywide Film Task Force, a body that creates a forum for the film industry to communicate their needs to the City.
LARRY LABOE Larry Laboe (Producers Guild of America) is President of Production at SXM where he has produced for Disney, NBC, VEVO, Dailymotion, MTV, Break Media (now DEFY Media), Amazon Studios, Comedy Central, and Complex Media. These projects have been directed by talent such as James Franco and Joseph Gordon Levitt. In addition to his work at SXM, Larry also serves as Co-Founder and Executive Director of NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA), and is a Visiting Faculty Member in the film department at the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI).
FRANCO SAMA Independent feature film producer Franco Sama boasts a remarkable and extensive history in public speaking, public relations and a decade of independent film development, production and financing.
Sama has Executive Produced an impressive array of over twenty (20) independent feature films including most notably, “Guns, Girls and Gambling” starring Gary Oldman, Christian Slater and Dane Cook which is quickly becoming a cult favorite; this film was released into theatres on December of 2012 and, in January 2013, acquired a worldwide distribution deal from Universal Pictures.
His shingle “Samaco Films” is currently financing and producing a slate of several independent feature films, including three psychological thrillers “Stockholm”, Séance, and Alexis Colette”, all of which are projected to begin principle photography before the fall of 2017.
NICHOLAS TANA Nicholas Tana got his start as a writer, producer, and director working as a P.A. for KAET Channel 8 in Arizona before serving as Associate Director for ESPN International. He has experience pitching to Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, after creating a kids animation pilot distributed by Bejuba Entertainment in 2006. He is creator of the supernatural comedy, HELL'S KITTY, which features more horror icons than any web-series in history, and is now a feature film with multiple distribution offers. His debut film, STICKY: A (SELF) LOVE STORY, distributed by Vision Films, Inc. and starring Janeane Garofalo, was both a top seller and Amazon award winner in 2016. He has served as a consultant for Disney, and is working currently for Twentieth Century Fox in TV Distribution.
MAX TIMM - MODERATOR
Max Timm is the Director of Education & Outreach with the International Screenwriters’ Association, with over a decade of experience in developing material and writers’ careers. His focus with the ISA is to build a creative community and bring ISA writers closer to ISA Industry Professionals.
His personal coaching, consulting, and script development service, The Story Farm, develops writers and their material much like a studio executive would, and his online classes, titled The Craft Course in Screenwriting, offer writers an in-depth yet easy to understand approach to the professional full development process.
A development consultant, manager, and screenwriting instructor, Max is a screenwriter and author himself. His debut novel, a young adult fantasy adventure titled The WishKeeper, about a teenage fairy with broken wings, won the young adult category of the 2015 Los Angeles Book Festival and released nationwide in the Summer of 2016.
