RJ Nevens, Jr won a Gold Remi for best historical screenplay at the 47th Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.  A group of young WWII Marines cope with the heartache and horror of combat with their donated war dogs. For the first time in American history, canines were trained and used in battle. Set in the 1940’s, this screenplay focuses on the bond between a group of donated dogs and their handlers, specifically a Doberman named Duke and youthful Private Markle. It portrays their travel by train from North Carolina to San Diego and eventually across the Pacific and into battle. Their travels to Guam lead to love, loss, and victory.
