Producer seeks Survival Thriller features. Typically, these are man-against-the-elements stories, but those elements can run the gamut from the sea to outer space and everything in between. Looking for an interesting twist on the familiar. For example, in The Grey, Liam Neeson’s character starts the film on the verge of suicide, but the story takes him to a place of survival and fighting for his life.
Contained stories encouraged, such as The Shallows (“a surfer gets stranded on a rock 200 yards from shore, and must use her wits to survive the great white shark blocking her way”). Comp titles: The Grey, All Is Lost, Gravity, The Revenant, The Edge. Can also take a horror-leaning approach, think films like Frozen or 48 Meters Down. Also, open to true stories, like Everest, 127 Hours and Rescue Dawn.
When submitting, please include your SCRIPT, a SYNOPSIS and most importantly, a thoroughly developed LOGLINE. We want to know your concept and hook within the logline. We will narrow our selection from the synopsis and logline, so you’ll want to impress and grab us with those elements.
Union and non-union writers accepted. Scripts from anywhere in the world will be considered but must be in English language.
