Our mission is to inspire and encourage writers through competition, while presenting a great networking opportunity for anyone involved in the industry.
For winners who attend, awards include trophies and plaques, as well as a Championship Belt to the Best Overall Script winner. Non-attending winners will be e-mailed certificates after the event. More sponsored prize info TBA.
All scripts must be in English and sent in PDF format. Cover page is not required but may be included. After submitting, please e-mail us at horrorhotelfest@gmail.com with your genre selection.
For shorts or features, please specify ONE genre from the following: fantasy, horror, horror-comedy, sci-fi, slasher, suspense-thriller.
For pilot/web, please specify whether you are submitting in the TV Pilot or the Web Episode category. You may submit more than one episode from your series, but they MUST be entered as separate submissions. Please do not submit a compilation/full series as one submission.
There are no restrictions as to when your script was completed, whether or not it has been optioned or produced, or whether or not it is in other competitions. Anyone may enter the competition. All entries must receive an average score of 85 or above in the judging process to qualify for award placement.
If your script qualifies for an award, you or a direct representative from your project must be in attendance at the festival in order to receive any physical awards. Non-attending winners will be e-mailed award certificates after the event. If you are a sponsored award winner, attendance is not required to receive those awards.
All submissions - whether accepted or not - come with ONE complimentary 4-day event pass to the festival. Any additional passes must be purchased in advance or at the door.
You may withdraw your submission at any time, but there are no refunds on submissions.
