Our 10 minute (or less) script competition is looking for the very best in film scripts of this length with a view to their production.
As our 2018 Feature Script winner Joadie Jurgova says -
“Entering The UK Film Festival’s screenplay competition was the best chance I have ever taken. It took my script and breathed new life into it, attaching an award-winning director and placing it with a prestigious international production company in less than a year. The support since winning has been phenomenal, respectful and generous. If you are looking for a script competition that you can place your trust in, this is it.“
Joadie Jurgova (2018 winner - The Canadian)
As well as the associated publicity, the winning 5 to 10 minute script will receive UK Film Festival Winner's Laurels and will be passed to various production companies for possible production.
Early success. Last year's winner "The Video" is currently in pre-production.
It should also be noted that most years since our 3 Minute Script Competition began, the winning script has been optioned and gone into production or pre-production. Five of the writers' resulting films have subsequently gone on to win film festivals around the world including the Berlin Film Festival's Crystal Bear for Best Short Film - two years in a row; as well as Best in Festival at the Aesthetica Film Festival, the Silver Mikeldi at Bilbau Film Festival, and best short film at Underwire Film Festival. The resulting films from our script competition winners have gone on to be Official Selections in 38 other festivals.
In addition, winners of the 10 Minute Script Competition will qualify for a Final Draft 11 writing software package and and an InkTip Script Listing: This means a listing of your script on InkTip: Producers have made more than 300 films from scripts and writers they found through InkTip.
We intend to continue our British and International filmmaking and film festival awards success with our future scriptwriter winners.
