Biography

Adele writes thrillers, often with borders and migration in the mix. A migrant based in Australia, she has also lived and worked in Aotearoa/New Zealand, the U.S. and the U.K.

Adele is a 2024 Academy Nicholl Finalist with NO GHOSTS TONIGHT, which also won the 2024 Golden Script Competition. She is also a Page International Screenwriting Awards Finalist (2023) and two-time Academy Nicholl Fellowship Quarter-Finalist with DUST ON DIRT (2022/2023).

She favours scripts with small(ish) casts and limited – though sometimes challenging – locations, and relishes making contained worlds feel big. Writing grounded, closely-researched stories, full of suspense and threat, with characters that have real dirt under their nails and secrets to keep, has been her main priority so far.
