For the past 10 years, I have been a Screenwriting Consultant for HE SAID/SHE SAID, the Cie I created with my partner and co-writer Robert B. Mac. I have also worked two years as a freelance reader for YOU GO FAR. More recently, I was hired to read and review short scripts for Goalcast. As a screenwriter of shorts and features, I have acquired an understanding of narrative structure, artistic nuance, the needs of the market, and how those elements interrelate.
Having previously taught in the Communication Department of Vanier Collge, I developped strong communication skills and the ability to give constructive criticism along with encouraging feedback.
A born storyteller, I've been writing since I could hold a pencil. Having lived on three continents, I have an international flair. Through my studies, practice and teaching of Fine Arts and Cinema, I acquired the skill of recognizing and nurturing creativity. This skill still earns me the loyalty of the screenwriters I've helped and mentored. I also wrote, directed, and produced short films that have traveled the world. My passion is for writing feature screenplays with empowering roles for women and men with diverse backgrounds.
Shadow of a Gator has won awards and placed high in prominent competitions, Gold Winner with IIFA, Semi-Finalist with Shoot Your Sizzle, and LAISA, it is now in the hands of a production company in Atlanta. Black Violin, with its topical theme of betrayal, is an antiwar script, featuring a Syrian refugee, is in a major rewrite mode.
