Ben Gilani is a distinguished screenwriter, filmmaker, and author with a career spanning multiple countries and genres. Born in Iran and inspired by National Iranian Television and his mother’s telefilm involvement, he moved to Dubai at 21, where he honed his craft under mentor Nicanor A. Odejar. He holds a Bachelor's in Information Systems and a Master’s in Film Directing, combining technical and creative expertise. Ben has written and directed over 142 TV commercials and short films, and starred in films like "Don Juan of Karaj" and "Are You Still Around?". His published literary works, including the poetry collections "I'm Alive with You, I Live for You" and "Straw Paper," and the epic novel "In Parallel to the Euphrates," highlight his versatility. His screenplays, such as "Unforeseen Encounters," "Don't Die on Me," and "Symphony of Steam and Stone," showcase his storytelling prowess across genres. Despite facing restrictions in Iran due to his advocacy for peace and freedom, Ben continues to create impactful work, including the acclaimed documentary "Riding the Rainbow." Now, Ben writes screenplays. He is currently adapting his novel into a television series. Outside of work, he enjoys playing guitar, oil painting, and reading.
