Born and raised in NYC, Cameron started his professional career at the age of nine in the original production of the Broadway musical NINE, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical, 1982.   He went on to work steadily as a child actor for the following decade, on stage and in film and television.   Cameron attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as well as Art Center, College of Design in Pasadena.   He spent 19 years running development for Hallmark Hall of Fame (on CBS and ABC.  During his tenure as SVP of Development, he produced 35 films, ghost wrote numerous screenplays for the franchise and worked with great writers to develop and produce films based upon the works of such notable authors as Anne Tyler, Thornton Wilder, William Faulker, Pat Conroy, Homer Hickam, John Grisham, Mitch Albom, Kent Haruf, Colm Toibin and Jack Finney—just to name a few.   Cameron is now an independent producer and screenwriter.  He wrote the independent film BIRDIE which was produced summer 2019 by Jeenyus Entertainment.  He is also the screenwriter of the NY Times Bestselling book adaptation, A LONG WALK TO WATER.  Cameron is currently the Executive Producer of the film MRS. CLAUS STANDS UP which is in development at ABC/Freeform.
