As an acting student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Cara was a Trustee Scholarship recipient, and won both the Paulette Goddard Acting Scholarship, and the Classical Studio Award. After graduation, Cara began performing on some of our country’s most beloved stages, from Carnegie Hall and Town Hall in New York City, to the Fox Theater in St. Louis, and more.
As she toured the country with a production of The Adventures of Curious George, Cara began writing her first play for an adult audience. In 2006, Social Work was produced in New York by Tony Award®-winning producers Anna Roberts & Alan Ostroff. Since then, Cara has developed several original TV series, including Evolution (Winner, The People’s Pilot), and Twirl (Winner, The People’s Pilot; Semifinalist, Table Read My Screenplay).
Cara’s teleplays and screenplays have been routinely recognized in competitions such as Austin Film Festival, Final Draft’s Big Break competition, ScreenCraft, and the Page International Screenwriting Awards. Cara has been commissioned to write adapted screenplays for Cannes Lions Award-winning director Vincent Laforet, and New York Times’ bestselling author Wendy Lawless, among others.
