CARLO AND ERIN CARERE
(pronounced Ca-rare-uh!)
BIO
Carlo was born in Naples, Italy and served as a Captain of the Carabinieri (the Italian equivalent of the FBI) for twelve years before switching to screenwriting full-time. An award-winning, published novelist in Italy and series regular on Italy’s longest-running TV show, Carlo moved to Hollywood and became a naturalized US Citizen.
Erin was born and raised in rural Minnesota before attending the University of MN, earning a B.A. in English Literature Magna Cum Laude and the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. In the beginning of her career she also supported herself as a psychic, a job that supplied her with a catalogue of human behavior and intriguing characters.
Erin and Carlo have been writing together since 2016 and plan to never stop.
Among their work is "E-Ghost", acquired by Isabella Ragona ("Stranded," "Forsaken") of Moving Pictures Media to be executive produced by James Brubaker ("Chef", "Liar Liar," "Rocky III.")
Another script, "Mindgate," has producer Joel Shapiro of Bluegrass Pictures attached, with Simon West set to direct and Chinese star Yao Xing Tong attached as one of the leads.
They were hired by Settima Pictures as writers on a documentary to be produced and directed by the Emmy-nominated Konwiser Brothers entitled "Rock: The Power of Change," about a former Crips leader turned basketball coach who is saving kids from the streets.
A short film they wrote and produced, "Near Death" was a winner or official selection at many film festivals before being licensed to Tubi, Xumo, Typhoon, Plex, Shorts TV, and Vimeo on Demand. They developed a series based on this concept which has won or placed in multiple screenwriting contests.
Their sci-fi pilot "Reverse," won seven screenwriting contests (including Final Draft’s Big Break Contest, Outstanding Screenplay Awards, the Inroads Screenwriting Fellowship, Filmmatic Screenplay Awards, Sun Valley Film Festival, Script Summit, the Screenplay Festival) and placed in 40 others. It was that project that led to them join the Imagine Impact App, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's invite-only program for the top 1% of writers in Hollywood.
