Biography

After living in Africa, Alaska, Scotland, New England, and Idaho, television and feature writer Christian Lybrook found his wheelhouse writing dark genre pieces set in uncommon locales. 

His western crime drama Scarred Land (formerly titled Branded) was a featured project at Trans Atlantic Partners, and is in development with producers Eagle Vision (Canada) and Noah Lang.

His feature-length thriller screenplay Dead Don’t Speak was selected for the Frontieres and FIN Partners co-production markets and is currently in development with director Justin Oakley (A Fire in the Cold Season) and Marvista Entertainment. Lybrook’s crime drama series, Zaire, inspired by a true story about an American ex-pat and his ever-escalating illegal endeavors in the Congo in the 1970s, is in development with Emmy-Nominee Jeff Most’s Most Media (The Crow, Viaplay’s Professionals).

Christian is a Fellow of The Gotham’s (formerly IFP) Episodic Lab, Cinestory’s TV Writers Retreat, and the. Plume & Pellicule Screenwriting residency in Sierre, Switzerland. His pilot for the pre-apocalyptic thriller Zero Point (co-created with Gregory Bayne) was selected the first-ever Tribeca Film Festival’s Digital Creators Market and later premiered at the festival.

He is a member of the Screenwriting Faculty at the Jacob Krueger Studio, where he works one-on-one with screenwriters of all levels.
