Screenwriter

Biography

Award-winning writer/director/filmmaker Christopher Hlas earned his MFA in Film Production from Boston University, where he was awarded the Gary Fleder-Scott Rosenberg Screenwriting Award.  His script, HEY VENDOR, won the Slamdance Short Screenplay Contest, and the film premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival.  Christopher is also a Nicholl Fellowship finalist for his scripts SCARE ME and THOSE WHO DON’T LEARN FROM HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO LAS VEGAS.  In addition, he wrote and directed the award-winning short film INTERLUDE, which screened in twenty-two major film festivals, won six awards, and was distributed by Big Film Shorts, Image Union, and Comcast, where it played On Demand under Cutting Edge.  Christopher also directed the documentary SONG OF ACCEPTANCE, which was purchased and distributed by Current TV. 

Christopher has pitched, sold material, and developed ideas, concepts, and scripts for film and television while collaborating extensively with development executives and directors at Evolution Television, Lionsgate Studios, Blumhouse Productions, Intrigue Entertainment, Lakeshore Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, Red Hour Films, Uzong Films, GFG Entertainment, Fade to Black Films, and Sun Entertainment, among others.
