Craig Miller is a 20-year veteran of the advertising industry as a writer and creative director, with dozens of creative awards from Cannes Lions, The One Show, Clios, and more.
But these days, he's branching out into screenwriting, and hoping to replicate some of that success in a new industry. His first foray into screenwriting, UNCLE RON AND THE RYAN EXPRESS, won 1st place at Script Summit in the Comedy category, as well as "Second Rounder" status at the Austin Film Festival. His second pilot, RAILS, and his first feature, WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S III, were also "Second Rounders" at Austin Film Festival.
20 years of working to fit his ideas into 30 second TV ads has led to Craig developing a lightning fast, sharp dialog style, often using the insanity of the advertising industry as a backdrop. Although he grew up a Southerner in Atlanta, Craig's also lived in New York City, Boston, London, Miami, L.A. and Boulder, Colorado. Thus, he brings a diverse American persepective to his work. But his mostly East Coast sensibility means he's a connoisseur of biting wit, dark humor and the humor that comes in those times when everything going pear-shaped.
Craig has also studied improv and comedy sketch writing at Upright Citizens Brigade and P.I.T. in New York City, and performs standup comedy across the country, including at the show he co-produces in Atlanta, "Finely Crafted: Cocktails and Comedy". He also holds a Masters Degree in Clincal Psychology, which comes in handy more often than you'd imagine.
He's got more projects in the pipeline, and can't wait to post more here soon.
