David Hallock Sanders is the author of the novel Busara Road, published by New Door Books, which won the Nautilus Book Award Gold Medal, was named a Finalist for the American Fiction Awards, the Screencraft Cinematic Book Competition, the Eric Hoffer Book Award Montaigne Medal, and was shortlisted as a Finalist for the William Faulkner – William Wisdom Prize for a novel-in-progress. His screenplay, based on the novel, was selected as a Semi-Finalist for the Rhode Island International Film Festival Screenplay Competition, the Cinequest Screenwriting Competition, and the Filmatic Drama Screenplay Awards; was named a Quarter-Finalist in the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards Competition; and was named one of the Final 35 in the UK Film Festival Script Competition, among other honors. His screenplay, "A HemidemisemiQuaker Christmas," was named a Quarter-Finalist in the Emerging Screenwriter Family and Holiday Screenwriting Competition, and his short screenplay, "The New Moon in the Old Moon's Arms," was selected for the Santa Barbara Screenplay Competition, named a Finalist for the Atlanta Screenplay Awards, named a Semi-Finalist for the Hollyshorts Screenplay Competition and the Filmmatic Screenplay Competition, and named a Quarter-Finalist for the WeScreenplay Shorts Competition. His short plays have been produced by InterAct Theatre Company and Brick Playhouse in Philadelphia, and for eight years he served as founding director and host of Writing Aloud, a fiction reading series based at InterAct that featured professional actors on stage and public radio.
