Samantha and Allison Garcia (or better known as the Garcia Sisters) are published authors and award-winning screenwriters passionate about film, writing, and the horror genre.
Their writing careers started a few years ago when they joined forces with the idea to write a series of young adult books called The Night Owl Chronicles. They also wrote and illustrated a children’s picture book series titled The Adventures of Max and Oscar (the first in the series is titled: Curse fo the Halloween Zombie!), which was also published.
When their first book, titled The Door, was published, it drew much attention from their younger readers and mature readers, and the media. So, the Garcia Sisters were invited to officially launch their debut book at the Melbourne Writers Festival in 2017.
Since then, they have continued to write, publish, and adapt their books into feature screenplays. The sisters also wrote horror shorts and an anthology TV series titled Monstra (see their resume for a complete list of completed screenplays, awards, and published books).
Their work has been recognized and awarded worldwide from top international screenplay awards such as Stage32, Filmmatic, Screencraft, Crimson Screen Horror Film Festival, Coverfly, A Night of Horror International Film Festival, Horror Haus Film Festival, and Creepy Tree Film Festival. Their work has appeared in the media, such as the highly respected Sci/Fi Horror magazine Andromeda Spaceways. They’ve appeared in Girl Magazine, The Leader, Star Weekly and have been invited to talk about their work on live radio shows such as Triple R and Get Cereal Breakfast Show.
The Garcia Sisters are part of the Australian Writers’ Guild (AWG).
They love nothing more than the art of storytelling and scaring the audience. The Garcia Sisters may love horror, but they focus on tension, suspense, jump scares, character struggles, and their journey throughout the story.
Each story the Garcia Sisters create is different, but nearly all of the characters are connected to each other in some unique way. It’s a web of horror where not everyone makes it out alive!
