Biography

 

Giancarlo is from the Dominican Republic, a country that sprouts more baseball pros than plantains, but he grew up in New Jersey on a steady diet of sitcoms & horror flicks. An injury ended his dream of being a Yankee so his focus shifted to the equally impossible dream of becoming a Hollywood screenwriter and he moved to L.A. after being awarded the Phyllis Gebauer Scholarship in Writing from UCLA where he earned a Certificate in TV Drama Writing. He also completed an MFA in Film & TV from Mount Saint Mary's University. He's a mentor for Young Storytellers teaching screenwriting to 'at risk' 5th graders and was a development assistant at a top boutique lit agency. He won a Writers Residency at the Bahamas International Film Festival where he was personally mentored by the legendary Roger Corman. In his spare time, Giancarlo enjoys binge-watching Netflix & purge-writing TV shows.
