Gustavo Calenzani is a Brazilian writer and film director based in São Paulo with two decades ́ background in advertising as a planner and creative director in agencies, production companies and experiential marketing companies with an El Ojo award and Cannes Short List.
He has conceived and wrote scripts for variety TV, docs, mini docs, branded content and art videos, and also written and directed videos for huge brands and co-directed advertising films for TV and internet.
Gustavo really loves writing fiction that blends comedy, drama and fantasy with profound characters and a dose of irony. For that, he writes every single day because he believes rewriting leads to greater stories. At least, he hopes so.
In 2018 he was a finalist in a primary children's book festival in Brazil.
In 2019 he won the Grand Jury Prize of Best Screenwriting at Los Angeles Motion Picture Festival, was a Semi-Finalist at Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival and at the ScreenPlay Festival with his feature rePLAYce ME.
DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS, his sitcom pilot, got to the semifinals in the Page Turner Festival.
In 2020 he was a finalist in Guiões (the world's most prestigious festival in the Portuguese language) with his feature rePLAYce ME.
His animation feature SPARKLE was Top 15 at the Page Turner Festival.
He's currently developing a sitcom, a young adult feature, and a children's series, among other projects.
