A genre-bending writer, Heather's stories focus on female protagonists who deal with real-life struggles while facing out-of-this-world situations. Specializing in fantasy, grounded sci-fi, and horror, her characters are full of drive, determination, and go on adventures that force them to face their past in order to take control of their future. She has written for Netflix and Crypt TV, including “Camp Monster: The Mauler” which has over 5 million YouTube views. Her scripts have received multiple 8s on the Black List and won/placed in numerous screenplay competitions, including the Austin Film Festival, the Creative World Awards & the PAGE Awards.
Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, Heather moved to Los Angeles to earn her MFA in filmmaking. After graduating, she gained experience in post-production, coordinating and editing EPK packages, DVD and marketing featurettes for both narrative and documentary films, including the Academy Award winning “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Anna Karenina,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” and “Who Shot Rock & Roll: The Film.” She was also a contributing writer for the 20 Questions Film Blog and wrote a series of articles covering the different stages of filmmaking, sharing creative insights and technical practices.
