Jacqueline Thornton received her MFA in screenwriting from the UCLA School of Film and Television. Her drama pilot, MY SISTERS won the UCLA Showcase as Best Television pilot. In 2023, her feature script, SHINING STAR was the winner of the LA Independent Women Film Award - Best Unproduced Script, a finalist and an honorable mention for the 2020 Stowe Narrative Lab Fellowship and a finalist at the 2020 Script and Storyboard Showcase. The script also received the Best Coming of Age script at the 2016 Broad Humor Film Festival. She also placed scripts in the finals of the Harlem International Film Festival, WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Competition and 2016 Filmmatic Screenplay Awards competition. She has written scripts for several producers and production companies.
