Born in Havana, Cuba, Janet Diaz-Bonilla arrived to the US at six years old during the 1980 Mariel Boatlift. During her time as a professional writer, she has written two novels (Rainbow House and Carpool), as well as a Spanish-language stage-play, screenplays, several short films and a limited series adapted from one of her novels. One of her short films, The Long Daydream, is currently in post-production.
