A proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Jeff Hammer was a year away from completing his M.D. when he left medicine to pursue a career in filmmaking. He earned an MFA in Screenwriting at the University of Southern California and recently returned to USC as a Screenwriting instructor in the John Wells Division of Writing for Screen & Television. As a screenwriter, his work has received distinction from the Walt Disney Studios/ABC TV Writing Fellowship, the Alfred P. Sloan/Sundance Commissioning Grant, and the Austin Film Festival. He wrote, directed, and produced the feature Live or Die in La Honda, which was the closing film of Film Invasion L.A. It is currently available on all major VOD platforms - including Amazon, DirecTV, iTunes, Vudu, Xbox, and YouTube. He is the producer of the original sci-fi web series Personal Space starring Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galactica), Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Kurt Yaeger (Sons of Anarchy), Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager), and more. It premiered on Amazon Prime on March 2, 2018.
