Fresh out of film school, a feature article in On Location magazine caught the eye of MTV and soon Nicholson began working with artists from ZZ Top to Michael Jackson. He relocated to Los Angeles to focus on higher profile commercial accounts and music videos. Soon his client list included Skechers, Lee Jeans and Toyota. His photography has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Good Housekeeping, Shape, USA Today, Oprah, People, Maxim and Stuff, to name a few. Moving from still pictures, Nicholson teamed up with Dane Cook to direct the award winning 35mm film, SPIRAL, which won Best Film or Best Director in every festival it has been screened. Jeff has been recognized as an “Emerging Filmmaker” by alwaysindependent.com, “One of 10 Directors to Watch” by smashcuts.com and a “Featured Filmmaker” on ifilmpro.com. Nicholson sold his first screenplay, FREESTYLE, starring HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL’s Corbin Bleu and THE GAME PLAN’S Madison Pettis. His latest projects include the dramatic television series THE DRIFTERS. Teaming again with Cook, they sold their feature pitch ‘DAD KNAP’ to Disney with Cook to star. Nicholson also attached Jay Mohr to the romantic comedy, MURPHY’S LAW and optioned his urban comedy HOLLYWOOD MOTORS to Jon Huertas THIS IS US. “Growing up - our house was always the one flooded with kids. It’s pretty much the same way now on my sets – just random kids from the neighborhood eating all the craft services. I guess I must thrive in chaos. I’m a pretty decent drummer and I’ve noticed that many directors/editors are drummers and I really believe having a built in sense of rhythm is a huge asset. I’m typically that one white dude at weddings that can really dance. It used to be kinda cool in my 20’s but now it’s most universally described as “pathetic”. I definitely have a directing “problem”. Sometimes I’ll just start directing traffic or stop people on the street. From small attitude adjustments to wardrobe, people just love it when I stop and give them some direction. I feel like it’s my way to give back. Yeah...I got beat up a lot in school.”  :) His favorite productions are his 3 children (with another on the way) and his trophy wife, Melissa, whom he purchased on line and put together all by himself in the basement.
