He co-founded Chavata Productions after winning a $40,000 production grant, which helped bring his acclaimed short film The Cookbook to life. The film resonated with audiences worldwide—screening in New York City, Los Angeles, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, Italy, Lebanon, England, France, and South Korea—and was acquired for VOD distribution by Echelon Studios. It will premiere soon on Fawesome TV.
John recently entered into a shopping agreement with Fairview Productions for his elevated horror feature Residual. His upcoming short film The Rocket, produced by an Academy Award® winner and starring Bonnie Piesse (Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi), is currently in post-production.
John holds a BS in Television, Radio, and Film from Syracuse University, where he formally studied screenwriting, and a clinical doctorate from SUNY Upstate Medical University.
