Katie is inspired by deep human connection and believes that life experience is the greatest education. Katie's growing body of work as an actor, writer, and producer is greatly influenced by her own vast life experiences and the amazing people she's met along the way. Katie has lived in and traveled extensively throughout South America, Central America, and Europe. She speaks both Spanish and German. Prior to her career in the film industry, Katie taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in Honduras, then competed professionally in rowing at the US National High Performance Olympic Development Center in Oklahoma City. Prior to being a full-time athlete she founded and ran her own small business for several years called SeaGypsy Catering: a mobile oyster shucking company. Katie graduated from the University of Denver with a B.A. in biological anthropology & minors in international business & Spanish linguistics. Outisde of writing, acting, and producing, Katie enjoys pitching in at the Gibbons family biz (Seattle Shellfish, LLC), coaching youth sports, gardening, wrangling cattle, painting, sculpting, & other artistic &/or athletic endeavors.
