Raised in Southern California by West African immigrants, Ken Alozie is an award-winning screenwriter, published author and financier. He specializes in features and pilots that often approach serious topics in a comedic fashion. Ken enjoys telling stories that spotlight the underrepresented, typically incorporating his own life experiences and perspectives into his writing.
His interest in screenwriting began as a teenager when he was put in charge of play production for his church. He would go on to write and produce ten short plays between the ages of 16 and 21. That experience was both formative and invaluable as it enabled him to witness how live audiences responded to his writing.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University and the University of Michigan, he spent years climbing the Wall Street ladder, first working as an investment banker and then running his own private credit firm. But his love of writing remained and he wrote his first spec screenplay, METAVERSE (f.k.a. BLUR), in 2008. The following year, the screenplay was a finalist in the American Screenwriting Competition out of the 2,000 scripts entered. He has since won and placed in numerous screenwriting competitions.
