Biography

Born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Lance began his career by enlisting as a Private in the US Army. His first duty station was Germany, igniting his desire to travel the world. Once his enlistment ended, Lance worked countless jobs at Fortune 500 companies serving in several capacities from administration to Human Resources. Struggling to find joy in those positions compelled Lance to begin the search for his passion. The spark happened after receiving Screenwriting for Dummies and a journal as a gift. Soon thereafter, Lance wrote his first screenplay. Investing in his craft, Lance enrolled in the esteemed DePaul University Master of Science in Cinema Production program. There he honed his skills and developed his passion for screenwriting. During his time at DePaul University, Lance played key roles in almost every aspect of his student productions from Writer, Director, Producer, Editor and Cinematographer. Deciding to take a different approach to getting his stories noticed, he began to submit his scripts to several film festivals and screen writing competitions across the world. His writing has earned him a win at the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards (LACA), selected status in multiple film festivals, and advancement to semi-finalists or finalist status in several others. Lance has also been a finalist in the prestigious Blue Cat writing competition.
