Luke Carr is an aspiring screenwriter and seasoned immigration paralegal with years of experience helping foreign nationals achieved green card of work visa status within the U.S., giving him a unique insight into ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds and the legal field.
Luke obtained his AA in Sociology with an Emphasis in Human Behavioral Sciences from Los Angeles Valley College, during which he worked at Universal Studios Hollywood and started independently studying the art and craft of screenwriting. After earning his degree, Luke took up the first writing job he could find - a legal writing position at an immigration firm - and continued to build his portfolio of feature-length, television pilot, and short-length scripts after his work hours.
While still at his first legal writing job, Luke saw success with his drama-thriller pilot script "Practical Dissonance", which became a Quarter-Finalist in the 2018 Screencraft Pilot Launch TV Script Competition. Most recently, his action-thriller "The Trophy Wife" became a Quarter-Finalist in the Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship and a Semi-Finalist in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.
Luke has built a portfolio of diverse scripts with an area of focus on feature-length horror, thriller, and action-styled writing, and uses his educational background in human behavioral studies to offer unique character perspectives and their struggles in his stories, often focusing on writing strong female characters and diverse, original storylines centering around such themes as revenge or societal power struggles.
Today, with a seasoned background in all types of writing, including immigration and legal writing, business writing, copywriting, grant writing, technical writing, and most notably, screenwriting, Luke is well-rounded and versatile in various formatting, writing styles, and creative genres, and has a large portfolio of variously-genred scripts that he is driven to see on the screen, big or small.
