MAK SHEALY (she/they) is a queer + non-binary writer, performer, and producer based in South Carolina and Los Angeles. As an artist, Mak is committed to continuing to create work that implicates and educates. Mak’s writing has been seen at the Entertainment Community Fund, Irondale Ensemble Theater, The Tank, Shetler Studios, with Kervigo Ensemble Theatre, Original Idiots as part of The Generator, and the Samuel French OOB Festival. They’ve created original immersive material for The Balcony Arts, The Cell Theater, and Wonder Media Network.
Mak is currently writing for an upcoming anthology film about psychedelics, queer parenting and American Suburbia, and is being commissioned by The Road Theater for her next play. Mak is also a guest lecturer at universities on creating nuanced queer characters without perpetuating queer trauma.
