Marina Bendocchi Alves (*1989) is a Brazilian screenwriter and director. She completed her Master’s in Serial Storytelling at the ifs international film school in Cologne and is specialized on writing serialized content, in German, English, and Portuguese.
Marina recently developed a drama series about the first great woman in history, female pharaoh Hatshepsut, with producer Uwe Kersken (G5 Fiction). She is also part of the Writers’ Room »Norderfall«, a Thriller Mini Series in development with UFA Fiction.
Furthermore the pilot script of her series »Give me that Becky« was selected among the semifinalists (Top 100) of the ISA International Screenwriters' Association top rated screenplay competition Table Read My Screenplay (Chicago 2017).
After digging into Theater Studies and getting a Bachelor’s degree out of it, Marina wrote and directed a socio-critical theater play named »Shitty Shitty Plem Plem«, which was performed at the Pasinger Fabrik in Munich and is now being distributed by Zuckerhut Theaterverlag.
During her Bachelor’s Marina made several (particularly experimental) short films. »Jump Lola, jump!« and »Substage« were nominated for the AABER Award 2012 - a cultural award for young artists in Bavaria. »Substage« was also selected in the Top 30 of one-minute short films at the International Film Festival Azyl in Bratislava.
Marina moreover worked in the film industry as Sound Editor in films such as »Wir waren Könige« (Best Narrative Feature - Austin Film Festival 2014, MFG Star - Baden Baden TV Film Festival 2014) and »Der Bunker« (Best Picture - Fantastic Fest 2015, Best Film - Palmares Mauvais Genre Festival 2015).
