Matt is a neurodivergent, queer father of two, with a bum foot and a brain tumour. Matt’s love letter to John Hughes (Don’t You Forget About Me, 2006) experienced an overnight bidding war for the microbudget doc. That same year he also filmed his improvised featurette (Most Likely To) which was called “a potent calling card” by Variety Magazine. Matt's second flick was his critically acclaimed narrative feature debut (Pretend We’re Kissing, 2015) featuring Zoe Kravitz and is now available across digital/VOD/ platforms around the world. After crossing into the adworld he received accolades for his scripted branded comedy series (The Brief). His next original script (Cherries) has placed in multiple scriptwriting competitions, a top 3 finalist at the 2019 Slamdance Script Competition. He recently secured a development deal with CBC for a LGBTQ2-YA Sci-Fi love story, (Wild Geese).
