Melissa is an award winning, British screenwriter who’s lived for several years in the US before recently returning to the UK. Melissa’s first feature script LOSING IT landed her in the Tracking Board’s Top 100 Young & Hungry writers list. Her latest feature script EASY OUT, a young adult dramedy that tackles the weighty issue of assisted suicide, was a top 10 script of the Nicholl Fellowship and has a director attached. In addition to her writing she’s made two short films; NOTHING and CHANGE.  The latter, which she wrote, produced and directed, won over 20 awards including the Frameline Audience Award at Toronto and the Jury Award at the Seattle LGBT Festival.  Now back living in the UK, Melissa has won a place on the BBC Writersroom Drama Program 2020 and is developing her original TV concept with BBC Drama Studios. She is also developing a teen mystery show for Studio Lambert.  Melissa’s writing ranges confidently from genre to character-based drama and from commercial to art –house.
